No freezes = giant house plants

This is the biggest poinsettia I have ever seen. Note that it is a tree and not just a little potted plant that you might see at Christmas. It's not far from where my kids wait for the school bus each morning.

I never knew poinsettias were trees, either, until I spent one winter in India. Apparently, in the right conditions, they are incredibly fast-growing trees, too. The ones I saw had been run right over by a car (new driver), and had sprung to a height of over 8 feet in a year.

We must get the "dwarf baby" kind in our pots.
